Our 3-Step Approach To The Perfect College Essay

Brainstorming & Development

Heather guides students through an introspective brainstorming to identify And develop topics that best reflect their background, interests, and unique experiences. Students are exposed to 3-4 successful essay samples to recognize and understand what makes these essays stand out.

Outlining & Writing

Students begin to solidify their ideas and narrow down what prompt to write About and the WAY they have to write it. The college essay is purely creative and very different from your typical high school essay. Then, students begin the exciting process of bringing their ideas to life on the page.

Refining & Elevating

Through continued revision and targeted feedback, Heather will help you get super Specific in clarifying your ideas and bringing more personal insight into your essay. To make sure you have the strongest essay possible, she will review everything in detail. Nothing is finalized until you are completely confident and satisfied!

FAQs

  • The prie is $115/hr.

    It’s crucial for our coach to come to each session fully prepared. Therefore, she will review all revisions/drafts in advance. Parents/students will be charged for this prep work, which is typically $80-90 (sometimes less). All prep work will be logged in the student’s file which they have access to so there are no surprises.

  • College essay coaching occurs online via video conferencing. To maximize student engagement, we require cameras to be on and screens shared.

  • Once you sign up, you’ll coordinate with Heather directly to schedule sessions on convenient days/times that fit your schedule. Meetings are typically scheduled on weekday afternoons (after school hours) and evenings. Weekends may be available upon request.

  • Sessions are typically 60-90 minutes long. This is sufficient to review any revisions and provide students with recommendations to implement for homework.

    If you have at least 5+ weeks before you need to submit your essay, then meeting once per week will give you adequate time to write and revise your essay.

    If time is running out and the deadline to submit your essay is quickly approaching, then we recommend meeting at least twice per week.

    Regardless, it’s important that students have enough time in between sessions to make the revisions and adjustments that are discussed in each meeting.

  • Students don’t need to be starting from scratch in order to work with us. We meet students where they’re currently at! We will review your existing drafts and make any necessary recommendations/revisions to ensure you submit the strongest version of your essay.

  • To make the most of your sessions with Heather, it’s all about what you do OUTSIDE of your sessions.

    Finding the right topic to write about can make all of the difference, so it’s crucial to do some serious reflection and brainstorming on your own. Invest the time to really consider your background and experiences.

    Also, students must allocate enough time to implement the necessary revisions recommended by Heather. Be sure to send those revisions to Heather at least 36-48 hours in advanced so she has an adequate amount of time to prepare and have an effective session.
