Our tutors have exceptional academic and professional backgrounds. Not only have they mastered the college entrance exams, but more importantly, they are fully invested in this process and have a unique gift for connecting with students.
Joshua Shampaner, M.Ed
As the founder of Top Score Tutors, Josh has always been passionate about the field of education. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education from Florida State University and Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Florida Atlantic University. His professional experience includes three years as a high school classroom teacher and five years as a college admissions counselor and academic advisor at Florida Atlantic University, serving both undergraduate and graduate students. Aside from running the daily operations of Top Score Tutors, Mr. Shampaner also serves as a temporary instructor for Broward County Public Schools, conducting in-person SAT/ACT workshops for both at-risk and high achieving students. He has been preparing students for the SAT/ACT since 2017, logging more than 3,000 hours of tutoring experience in both individual and group settings. Each Spring, he helps plan and execute college tours for high school students across the country. When Mr. Shampaner isn't teaching, he loves going to baseball games, doing yoga, practicing spanish, going to the beach, and spending quality time with his wife and son.
Tseten Lhamo
Tseten earned her Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Wesleyan University and has several years of experience tutoring middle and high school students in Math, English, and test preparation for the SAT, ACT, and SHSAT. She takes a student-centered approach, creating engaging lessons that build confidence, strengthen core skills, and encourage independent learning. Tseten has worked with students of all backgrounds, including those with learning differences such as ADHD and dyslexia, and believes that every student can thrive with the right support and mindset. She loves seeing her students grow more confident and excited about learning as they reach their goals. In her free time, Tseten enjoys volunteering, exploring new coffee shops, and spending time with family and friends.
Jaz Freeman
Jaz has earned multiple degrees from several institutions during her academic career. She received a Bachelor’s of Science in Education and Mathematics. During this time she was Treasurer of SACNAS (The Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science) and had consistent placements on the Dean’s List for her accomplishments in Academia, and extracurriculars while also obtaining multiple awards in Mathematics and Science Competitions.
Now Jaz is a full time Educator, Capstone Advisor, Mentor, Curriculum Developer, and Counselor who has worked for a number of high profile institutions. She is based internationally and in her travels has assisted more than 1000 students and families surpass their academic, and interpersonal goals across her 17 years in the field. Her years of invaluable experience have allowed her the opportunity to become a subject matter expert in English (K-12), Math (K-College level), Science - Bio, Chem, Physics, Social Studies, Geology, and Geography - Executive Functioning, Test Prep, Mental Health management for youths, and more.
Leo Shusterman M.Ed
Leo’s passion for math and education started with the influence of his grandmother, who was a math teacher in the Soviet Union for 40 years. He has a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, both earned from the University of Texas at San Antonio. His professional experience includes teaching math at the collegiate level, and for the last 7 years, teaching high school math ranging from all the subjects such as Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus AB/BC. While pursing his master's degree, he tutored students at the Sylvan Learning Center on a variety of topics including the SAT. When Mr. Shusterman is not teaching he loves watching and playing baseball and football, collecting sports cards, and most importantly spending time with the 2 girls in his life, his wife Victoria and daughter Evie.
Disha Iyengar
Disha is a rising senior at the University of Central Florida, pursuing a Bachelor's in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Spanish on a BS/MD track. She has been tutoring for five years, working primarily with high school students in a variety of AP and IB subjects, as well as SAT, PSAT, and ACT prep. Disha is committed to helping students not only master academic content but also build strong test-taking strategies and confidence to achieve their best results. She scored a 1530 on the SAT, which informs her approach to standardized test prep. After graduation, Disha plans to begin medical school and pursue a career as a physician. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, painting, and traveling.
Benjamin Aslin
Ben is currently enrolled at the University of Florida pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. His teaching journey began by always helping his two younger brothers when it came to homework and studying for tests. This led to his first tutoring job at Kumon, where he worked with students both in person and online for 3 years, quickly getting promoted to Senior Instructor. Having scored a 1510 on the SAT himself, Mr. Aslin transitioned into online SAT/ACT tutoring where he focuses on helping students not only improve their scores, but also their critical thinking skills as he feels that it will leave a lasting impact on all of their future academic studies. Upon graduation from the University of Florida, Mr. Aslin is pursuing a career in the financial services industry, specifically asset management. In his free time, he enjoys skiing, biking, poker, and watching football, baseball, and basketball.
Jesse Irizarry, MSW
Jesse has been interested in tutoring since he himself benefited from it; tutoring helped him to gain admission to a Specialized High School and to score in the 99th percentile on his SAT. He began his own journey as a tutor in undergrad, teaching group courses on the Specialized High School Admissions Test (SHSAT) at a tutoring agency in Queens, NY. He went on to tutor for a non-profit devoted to helping students from underserved neighborhoods gain admission into premier Specialized High Schools. He also has extensive experience privately tutoring students on the SAT, and enjoys seeing his students succeed. Jesse graduated with honors from Stony Brook University, where he majored in English. Motivated by a strong sense of empathy, compassion, and helping others, he went on to earn a Master's Degree in Social Work from Hunter College. In his free time, Jesse enjoys doing the NYT crossword, listening to podcasts, going for jogs, reading history, and learning Spanish.
Olivianne Jean-Baptiste
Olivianne teaches all sections of the SAT and ACT exam. She is a state-certified educator with nearly 15 years of experience teaching mostly mathematics and science at both the secondary and college levels. Her teaching approach is rooted in conceptual learning, where she guides students to connect the abstract principles of Algebra with real-world applications. Throughout her career, Olivianne has found that students excel in mathematics through active problem-solving and a focus on conceptual understanding. With a passion for breaking down complex topics, she helps her students master problem-solving strategies while building the mathematical proficiency needed to tackle challenging problems. Olivianne is known for her ability to explain topics from multiple perspectives, reducing anxiety and building confidence level. Her ultimate goal is to support students in succeeding in their academic journeys.
Daniel Shampaner, M.Ed
Daniel received a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science Education from Florida State University and a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus in Educational Technology from the University of Florida. He is a passionate and dedicated educator with 15 years of experience as a classroom teacher, science instructional coach, ESE Support Facilitator, and ESE Director. He is certified in the areas of Elementary Education, Reading, Exceptional Student Education, Social Studies, and Middle Grades Integrated Curriculum (Science, Math, Language Arts in grades 5-9). He values partnering with families, providing guidance to those seeking support with their child’s IEP and helping them better understand available services and accommodations. His goal is to help families feel more confident navigating IEP meetings and advocating for their child’s educational needs. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, attending his daughter’s basketball games, and watching 90’s television shows and movies.
